With two twin-scroll turbochargers providing an immediate response to the driver’s demands, the advanced V8 engine has the typical Bentley characteristics of phenomenal torque at low engine speeds and ample reserves of power. The torque reaches a maximum of 770 Nm at an engine speed of under 2000 rpm, propelling the new Bentayga V8 on to a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).
Despite the phenomenal performance, the engine is highly efficient, using technologies such as start-stop and variable displacement, which shuts off four of the eight cylinders when not required and results in a highly practical range of 455 miles or 733 km (NEDC).
An essential part of the driving experience is the sound, and the V8 has an unmistakeable, characterful rumble. An optional sports exhaust, which is available as an accessory, dials up the emotion further still.

First though, the facts: beneath the bonnet lies a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that can deliver 550PS and 770Nm of torque. That’s enough to propel you from zero to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds). Among the Drive Dynamics modes available is a new Enhanced Sports Mode, which adds an even more thrilling dimension. While every Bentley has a Sports Mode, this one pushes the driving character of the car even further. Bentley Dynamic Ride comes as standard. An active anti-roll system, it gives the vehicle the agility of a sports car and the comfort of a luxury grand tourer during more relaxed driving. This is made possible by an electric motor attached to the anti-roll bar, as an alternative to the rigid anti-roll bars commonly fitted on sports cars. It literally tightens its grip on the axle when the car is cornering, for a greater sense of control and a more thrilling drive. The New Bentayga EWB Azure is incredibly easy to drive. A 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine produces 550 PS and 770 Nm of torque – enough power to deliver the smooth, surging acceleration you expect from Bentley. The New Bentayga EWB Azure is a car with design at its heart. From the outside, it appears beautifully proportioned, with little indication of the extra space on offer within. The entire front of the car gleams, thanks to the exclusive polished chrome finish on the lower bumper grilles that complement the main grille, for the ultimate statement of elegance. Yet for many, it will be the unique wheels that mark the car out.
